Living with an Open Heart

heartsBeing human can be odd at times. Somewhere along the line, most of us decided good emotions are preferable and the bad ones should be avoided, shoved down, and/or pushed away. It’s quite understandable because pain, jealousy, anger, and hate can be very uncomfortable. The problem with closing off from the “bad” emotions is that we dull our ability to feel the good ones. She Flew the Coop

old me0001Our daughter has moved away to her university. We got her settled yesterday, with big help from my mother. I’ve been so excited for her, knowing that it’s the perfect school for our girl, I really had no clue how I would feel when she finally left. Mind you, she will probably be back for the summer and I know I will be way more panicked when she goes abroad to Japan for six months next year. However, I’m deeply— I honestly don’t know the right word. Sad doesn’t seem to quite fit. Maybe more it feels like a loss but I know it’s not. She and I are super close and she is only an hour and a half away but my heart hurts today. Continue reading

What’s On My Mind…

062015 278Leading up to the release of my eighth novel, The Second First Chance, on Wednesday, I have a lot on my mind. Of course, there’s the usual—Will this be the book that really opens the hearts of Romance Readers everywhere? Will the reviews continue to be stellar? Will the sales for the release be as good as they were for Blue Persuasion? On and on it goes in my head.

Then there are the thoughts specific to TSFC. Most of my novels are stories written because they’re novels I’d want to read. After all, I’m a reader at heart and love a story that moves me and draws me in from the start and then changes me in the end. I love being lost in a story as a reader and a writer. Continue reading

Blakely’s Kinky Korner with Nicholas Tanek #9

11186350_1066502983379071_388392555_nPlease welcome Kinkster Nicholas Tanek. He’s going to share with us today what makes him kinky and what really makes him hard and gets him excited. This is a long and very interesting interview so hold on to your hats!

IMG_0747Blakely: Hi Nicholas Tanek. Thank you so much for joining us today! We are all looking forward to finding out what makes you kinky.
Nicholas: Hello, Blakely. It is a pleasure to speak with you. I commend you on the fact that you are promoting awareness of the BDSM and fetish communities.

Blakely: What’s your definition of kinky?
Nicholas: To me, it is something that is off from the norm in terms of sexuality. For the average person, they are ashamed and have suppressed these urges. I embrace it. Life is short. So, examples could range from vanilla to hardcore. Vanilla kink would be the simple stuff like handcuffs, light rope, restraints, blindfolds, dildos, butt plugs, etc. Hardcore? Hmm… consensual rape play, male chastity devices, forced feminization, urinating on people, extreme bondage, breath play, humiliation, etc. Continue reading

Synopsis

Judy, dubbed Blue by her friends, is a voluptuous thirty-one year old woman longing for a love of her own. Even more frustrating than her dissatisfaction with her work and the unwanted attention her body garners is always coming in second with the opposite sex.

Bond, her best friend and lover, helps Blue stay sane and sexually satisfied, but she knows her place. Their secret relationship leaves Blue hungry to have a man she can call her own.

When she finally succumbs to Cat’s artful needle for her first tattoo, she crosses paths with Tate. The towering, tattooed, motorcycle riding, American Indian fires off all her warnings signs, but she finds herself drawn to him against her own self-preservation.

Thankfully, Blue’s close-knit group of friends help to keep her grounded, as does the women’s group she attends weekly, but she still finds herself wanting and needing more.

Will Blue ever find the love she needs and deserves or will she forever come in second? Read her sexy story of friendship and love to find out.

“Everywhere he touched, the heat of his caress lingered. His gaze held me captive, dissolving my will and restraint. With my nipples clasped between his fingers, he pinched and tugged. ‘I want to hurt you,’ he grunted.”

My New Year’s Resolutions for 2015

calvin-hobbes-new-years-resolutionsIt’s that time again to focus on our goals and resolutions for the upcoming year. I reread mine from last year and many will be the same for this year. I almost hit all my writing goals (different stories than I imagined), which is good and bad. I still haven’t found a good balance between writing, social media and relaxing. I definitely worked too much this year as well. So here goes: Continue reading

The Art of Conversation

converseOne of the more important factors for me, in writing a novel, is the dialogue between the characters. It must flow in a natural way and my readers should actually feel the different cadence between different people in the story.

Why is this on my mind? Well I’ll tell you…

My husband and I were out for our walk the other day and we ran into some female friends. When my girlfriends and I get together and are excited about a topic, we tend to share the conversation. Sometimes our comments even overlap. Maybe it’s a girl thing? Continue reading
