Blakely’s Friday Interview with Zax Vagen

Please give a warm welcome to Zax Vagen, author of Finding the Soul Bridge.

41eR+uFdWNL._UX250_Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re currently working on or promoting.
I am a diverse character with many talents. When I was just a young boy, my father told me that I could be anything that I chose to be. I misunderstood his meaning as; “You can be everything.” Now I am just a plumber… and and electrician… and I own and run three small businesses, P.S Plumbing services, Renewable energy products and GreenEarth WormFarms. I’m also a boat captain, a scuba diving instructor, a real estate investor, a snake wrangler and shark diver extraordinaire… I write fantasy, scifi, motivation and romance. I have built a ship, been shipwrecked, gone bankrupt, restarted, patented inventions, started a new industry, written and published a novel, acted in five movies and planted more than 1000 trees. Marla MonroeTell us a bit about yourself and what you’re currently working on or promoting.
I’m from the South, as in Mississippi. I love to read, write, listen to books on my MP3 player, chase my cats, and, well, read. Siren Publishing just released Their Independent Submissive, book 5 in the Knights in Black Leather.

What genre is your book? Do you write in other genres as well?
Men of the Border Lands is a post-apocalyptic ménage series. Wounded Warriors is an aftermath Military series. I write everything from bikers to cowboys and anything in between. The only genres I don’t write are Inspirational and Historical and of course, YA. Presently I have bear shifters, wolf shifters, bikers, cowboys, Space Travel, BDSM, and much more. Continue reading

Predestination

PREDESTINATION_27X40_R3MECH.inddThis blog is about the movie, but it’s also about my family. If you haven’t seen the movie and plan to, you might want to skip this post. Spoilers are included. I’m not recommending this film as I found it chockfull of flaws, but I will say it was interesting and we are still talking about it. So there is that. Continue reading

Cover Design: Yocla Designs
Editing: Harper Jewel aka Suze

Synopsis

Judy, dubbed Blue by her friends, is a voluptuous thirty-one year old woman longing for a love of her own. Even more frustrating than her dissatisfaction with her work and the unwanted attention her body garners is always coming in second with the opposite sex.

Bond, her best friend and lover, helps Blue stay sane and sexually satisfied, but she knows her place. Their secret relationship leaves Blue hungry to have a man she can call her own.

When she finally succumbs to Cat’s artful needle for her first tattoo, she crosses paths with Tate. The towering, tattooed, motorcycle riding, American Indian fires off all her warnings signs, but she finds herself drawn to him against her own self-preservation.

Thankfully, Blue’s close-knit group of friends help to keep her grounded, as does the women’s group she attends weekly, but she still finds herself wanting and needing more.

Will Blue ever find the love she needs and deserves or will she forever come in second? Read her sexy story of friendship and love to find out.

“Everywhere he touched, the heat of his caress lingered. His gaze held me captive, dissolving my will and restraint. With my nipples clasped between his fingers, he pinched and tugged. ‘I want to hurt you,’ he grunted.”

unnamed-18 About The Author

Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving, and supportive husband, who is also a writer, and who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (it is always on while she is writing thanks to Pandora), and a good friend. An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is also a facilitator for a women’s group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise, and finds that, since moving to Seattle, Washington, she is now one of those crazy people who walks in the rain.

Blue Persuasion is her seventh novel and the third in the Bound by Your Love Series (Stuck in Between and Bittersweet Deceit). She is also the author of the dark erotic suspense My Body Trilogy (My Body-His, My Body-His (Marcello) and My Body-Mine) and the co-author of the contemporary romance, The Demarcation of Jack, which she wrote with her husband, Dana Bennett.

Is it really me … or is it you?

8635216355_51c0b326bf_zWhy is it that when someone doesn’t like me or what I create, my response is to like myself less instead of liking them less? Last night, sitting on the couch with my husband watching a movie, my mind wandered and the above is what came to me.

Anthropologically it makes sense to me. We, as a species, needed to care what the tribe thought so we could all survive.

Most of us care about what other people think. I get that. Short of the few narcissists I have met in my life, it seems to plague all of us to some extent. Continue reading

Blakely’s Friday Interview with George A. Kos

Please give a warm welcome to George A. Kos, author of Wizards’ Secret Service: The Key of Radmarand & The Brotherhood of Darkness.

me (1)Tell us a bit about yourself and what you’re currently working on or promoting.
Since I was a kid I always loved fantasy stories and as some of my classmates always told me, I kind of lived in my own world. After getting older this passion for everything unusual grew stronger and I began to try writing short stories. Now I’m promoting my debut novel Wizards’ Secret Service and The Brotherhood of Darkness.

Do you have an agent and/or publisher or are you self-published? If self-published, do you use a professional editor? If traditionally published, who is your publisher?
I don’t have an agent. Frankly, more than 130 agents rejected me, but I was lucky to receive a contract offer from traditional publisher Silver Knight Publishing and I’m glad I signed it. Continue reading

My 5 Star Review of Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

17788401Ugly love by Colleen Hoover is by far my favorite book this year. I’ve read other books I really enjoyed like Wonder by R.J. Palacio or ones I didn’t care for like Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (I know I’m in the minority with that one). Why did Ugly Love speak to me so clearly? I’ll tell you. Continue reading

Blakely’s Friday Interview with Jen Cousineau

Please give a warm welcome to Jen Cousineau, author of A Deadly BetLicentious.

1stWho or what inspires you?
To My Loves, the inspiration is my daughters. In fact they are playing a major role in the book. Whereas Licentious was inspired by two songs: Monster by Rhianna and Eminem, and Human by Christina Perri. It all just depends, as each book the inspiration has been different. But I will tell you that while I’m writing, music plays a huge inspirational role for me.

Do you have an agent and/or publisher or are you self-published? If self-published, do you use a professional editor? If traditionally published, who is your publisher?
I’m self-published, but I do use a professional editor – Rogena Mitchell-Jones. I absolutely love her! I’m horrible with punctuation and sometimes being too detailed. She’s amazing at reigning me in a bit. Continue reading
